McCann Aids the
Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund with
Creative Flair
McCann Worldgroup has been awarded the Nelson
Mandela Children’s Fund (NMCF) account in the areas
of traditional advertising, activation and both
media strategy and deployment. “The NMCF is an
extraordinarily well respected organisation, with a
charter to make a socio-economic difference to the
disadvantaged children of this nation,” comments
Martin Hummel Group Chief Executive “This
appointment is a deeply meaningful one for McCann
Worldgroup SA and our operating companies.”
Since the initial conception in 1995, the NMCF
has become a major player in raising and disbursing
funds. Working closely with other development
organisations, the government and the private
sector, the organisation has distributed R276
million to ‘worthy causes’ and continues to do so.
McCann strives to make meaningful and appropriate
CSR Investments and is passionately committed to
playing a role in this pursuit. NMCF is in alignment
with McCann’s CSR strategy as both are focused on
children and youth. McCann is committed to the
future generation of South Africa.
“We are equally excited about this partnership as
it has been a challenging exercise for the Fund to
share lessons and achievements accomplished since
its inception. We humbly submit that the problems
are overwhelming and huge. However, we are expected
to play our part in bringing relief in areas in
which we can best practically deploy our resources,
which often leave us with minimal funds to share
knowledge with the public.
Our vision which is to change the way society
treats its children and youth will now be realised
as we are grateful that the partnership with McCann
will support us in achieving our founder’s wish.”
Sibongile Mkhabela, CEO NMCF.
“We look forward to working with this world
renowned organisation to initiate, develop and
support practical programmes for the prevention,
care and support for those infected and affected by
HIV and AIDS in Southern Africa,” concludes Hummel. |
