The exhibition was hosted in Johannesburg at the Advertising Agency premises on the 01st July 2008. The event was attended by stakeholders from different sectors. Participants of the exhibition were children and youth ranging from age 10 - 21 years, from all 9 South Africa provinces within 13 schools. The artworks created by the learners were sold at a price ranging from R100 - R1500 with a large percentage of the profit towards the participants themselves. Young people are also involved in other activities other than art work, which includes singing, poetry and playing musical instrument. These activities have led to a group of young people form a group called "Versatile". Their work includes poetry, rhymes and instruments like violin and drums. The group was also given a platform to perform during the fund birthday celebration on the 09th July 2008. Nelson Mandela Children's Fund in partnership with TBWA/Hunt Lascaris is currently supporting young people in schools in developing Room 13. The programme is implemented in 6 schools in 4 provinces. The main objectives are to create an environment which allows young people to explore their artistic talents and use them for entrepreneurial purposes From the compiling desk, it is always a privilege for one to witness the great work of the fund!
