2000 – 2005 The Fund was repositioned as a development-cum advocacy agency to present a unique form of intervention on the HIV and AIDS arena by partnering with Department of Social Development and civil society organisations to introduce a comprehensive response that brought the centrality of family and community in the fight of the epidemic through its groundbreaking programme named, Goelama.
For the second five year-period (2000-2005) the Fund took a proactive stance. It assumed a development posture, taking advocacy stance and sharpened its focus. Along with a community of its funded partners, the Fund began to shine the spotlight of its focus towards the plight of orphans due to HIV and AIDS and other children found in vulnerable circumstances.
