#ServeLikeMadiba and Give Like They’re Yours.

On Monday, 20 November 2023, the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund (NMCF) officially launched the State of the South African Child Report, in partnership with Deloitte Africa, in Midrand, Johannesburg.

This is the second report and the first one was done 7 years ago in 2016 and centres around NMCF’s priority areas and the identified challenges.

These are Child Poverty, Health and Nutrition, Education, Housing and Household Characteristics, and Child Safety.

February 1995

The Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund was the first charitable organisation established by President Nelson R. Mandela during his presidency in February 1995. During this period, he pledged one third of his presidential salary towards the building of the Fund. He counted on good men and women to continue supporting the work of the Fund long after he would have passed on.

2023 - Ten Year Annivesary

2023 marks ten years since our founder’s passing. As the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund we hope you will support our “Mandelathon” theme, “Gone but not Forgotten – the Legacy in Action”. This is your opportunity to be a part of keeping his legacy alive.
