Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund School Children
Campaign 2018

A Mandela in every generation”

This year the Fund is holding A Mandela In Every Generation Writing Campaign for school students around the country – in celebration of Madiba’s centenary. Students are invited to submit pieces of writing, art, plays or fundraising inspired by Nelson Mandela’s legacy and values with the subject being: - A Mandela in Every Generation: What can I do to make SA better for ALL children…

Who can take part?
The campaign is open to ALL schools, any young people’s community organisations and direct individual submissions. We invite and challenge ALL schools to participate by encouraging the kids to submit their work. Each school will then pick their TOP 5 essays, art, or plays and send them to the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund (NMCF), by email, post or fax.

Campaign Guidelines
Choose ONE or More of the following:

  1. Write an essay about your role/responsibility in keeping Madiba dream of making SA better for all children.
  2. Art work of what a better SA looks like for all children.  (Juniors – up to 10 years old)
  3. A play/production  inspired by Nelson Mandela’s legacy and values with the subject being: - A Mandela in Every Generation: What can I do to make SA better for ALL children…
  4. Fundraise for the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund – philanthropy (desire to promote the welfare of others, expressed especially by the generous donation of money to good causes)  - (see fundraising ideas attached)
