Ms. Mary-Jane Morifi is a highly respected corporate affairs and sustainability leader with extensive experience in executive leadership, governance, stakeholder engagement, and socio-economic development. She most recently served as Chief Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Officer at Tiger Brands from 2016 until her retirement in 2024, where she was a member of the Executive Committee and led the organisation’s corporate communications, government relations, sustainability strategy, enterprise and supplier development, and social impact initiatives.

Earlier in her career, she held senior leadership roles including Executive Head of Corporate Affairs at Anglo American Platinum and Director of Audit for market-facing businesses at BP in London. She also led the global capital campaign for the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital Trust, successfully helping to raise R1 billion to build the hospital.

Ms. Morifi has played a key role in several transformative initiatives in South Africa, including launching enterprise development programmes, advancing broad-based economic empowerment initiatives, and contributing to major fundraising and community development efforts. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Cape Town and has completed executive programmes at both Harvard Business School and Stanford Graduate School of Business. She continues to contribute to society through various board and trustee roles, supporting initiatives in education, enterprise development, and social impact.
