Ms Nozizwe Vundla is an accomplished executive leader in social impact, corporate citizenship, and development, with a career spanning management consulting, entrepreneurship, public sector policy, and philanthropy. She currently serves as General Manager of the MTN Group Foundation, where she oversees the governance and operations of MTN’s Foundations and CSI divisions across Africa. In this role, she leads flagship initiatives such as the MTN Skills Academy and the rollout of MTN ICT Hubs, focused on digital upskilling for women, youth, and refugees across the continent.

 

Ms Vundla was ‘Head of the Sanlam Group Foundation’ where she transformed the organisation into a high-impact, strategy-led grant-making institution supporting multiple African markets. Previously, she served as ‘Executive Director of the Student Sponsorship Programme (SSP)’, a national educational NGO providing high school scholarships and psychosocial support to academically gifted learners from low-income homes.

 

Nozizwe’s early career includes senior policy roles in the ‘National Treasury’, where she managed South Africa’s relationship with the World Bank, and the ‘Department of Trade and Industry’, where she participated in both multilateral and bilateral trade negotiations. She also worked as a management consultant at ‘KPMG’ and launched two entrepreneurial ventures in the fashion and retail sectors.

She holds an ‘LLB’ and a ‘BA in International Relations, Politics and English Literature’ from Wits University, and completed a ‘Performance and Growth leadership programme’ through Harvard Business Publishing Corporate Learning. A recognised thought leader, she has published articles on ESG and collaboration in national reports and frequently participates on expert panels. She is also a ‘Fellow of the Africa Leadership Initiative (ALI-SA)’ and the ‘Aspen Global Leadership Network’.

 

Nozizwe contributes her expertise as a board member of several organisations, including the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund and St Mary’s School Foundation, and has previously served as Chairperson of the Women’s Legal Centre.
