Ms. Rita Motlana is a highly experienced development consultant specializing in health, monitoring, and evaluation, with over 20 years of experience across Africa, Eastern Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia. She has extensive expertise in programmatic and M&E processes, including evaluations, data quality reviews, capacity assessments, and quality assurance for national programs and large-scale grants.
Since 2006, Ms. Motlana has led numerous teams verifying and assessing grant-related data for major global health initiatives, including the Global Fund, Gavi, and UNICEF. She has provided technical assistance, implemented monitoring dashboards, and conducted programmatic audits, ensuring robust data quality and operational efficiency. Her work has spanned countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Malawi, Zambia, and South Africa, among others.
Ms Motlana has also contributed to youth development and mentorship programs, notably as a Girls for Girls global mentor, training over 200 mentors and managing global dashboards to track program impact. She is a certified FranklinCovey trainer in leadership and productivity courses and has provided capacity-building support to organizations including the Mastercard Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.
Ms Rita Motlana is a Trustee with the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund, and between March 2019 and October 2022 served as Country Team Lead for Girls for Girls South Africa, a global mentoring organization that seeks to empower girls to lead. Rita also previously served as a Board member for Special Olympics Uganda, which supports young disadvantaged athletes.
